The mother’s message also included a heartbreaking moment from within the family. Pheobe’s younger brother, referred to as “your little man,” had asked, “Why won’t Phee take our calls? She always takes our calls!” Kylie said she had no answer but remained hopeful.
Authorities and family members are also examining Pheobe’s digital footprint, including a troubling TikTok post she made on March 31.
In what’s now being called her last social media message before disappearing, Pheobe appears reflective and emotional. She stated, “She will never be proud. We don’t see nor talk to her but it’s better like this.” The comment was in reference to her relationship with her mother, suggesting longstanding family tensions.
Later in the same post, Pheobe revealed more about her home life, saying, “We’ve been in and out for years this time we’re not going back though.” The statement appears to reference her inconsistent living arrangements and a final decision to leave home permanently.
The post, while artistic in nature, has added a layer of concern for investigators and loved ones, highlighting possible distress and unresolved conflict in the months leading up to her disappearance.
As police continue their investigation into the disappearance of Pheobe, several new accounts have emerged that provide troubling insight into her final weeks before vanishing.
Local supermarket staff, neighbors, and even her flatmates have spoken out, painting a more complex picture of the teen’s life prior to May 15.
A worker at the IGA supermarket in Gin Gin, where Pheobe reportedly shopped frequently, shared a deeply concerned account with Daily Mail Australia.
The staff member said Pheobe often appeared “worse for wear with no money,” and described multiple instances where she was short on change and appeared hungry. “Why aren’t questions being asked about what happened to that poor child 10 weeks before this? Where were her parents?” the worker asked.

They added, “Pheobe looked like no one owned her” and described how the town had failed to act, saying, “This town should be standing still but it’s not. It should be crawling with people but it’s not.”
The worker’s emotional testimony also included their belief that “People in this country have to prove they can look after animals or reptiles but not children.”

Pheobe had been living at a property in Gin Gin in the weeks leading up to her disappearance. Neighbor Shari Loughland confirmed that the teen had moved in only recently, saying she had been there “for a few weeks, up to a month or two.”
Despite the new start, it appears Pheobe was still facing challenges. A friend, who chose to remain anonymous, shared what is believed to be her final conversation with Pheobe, sent just days before she disappeared.

On May 12, 2025, Pheobe wrote, “I’ve been better but I focus on the good s***.” She also mentioned travel plans, adding, “I take off to WA in three days! Get out of this s* home for a bit so that will be good, just packing atm.”** When asked about the duration of the trip, Pheobe replied, “10 days beautiful x.”
These messages suggest a mix of emotional fatigue and optimism as she prepared to leave what she referred to as a troubled home environment.
The investigation deepened further when Pheobe’s flatmate, 33-year-old Tanika Kristan Bromley, was arrested on May 25, 2025, on unrelated firearms charges.

Police reportedly found a shortened firearm, ammunition, and two replica handguns in a grey Hyundai ix35 — the same vehicle linked to Pheobe’s disappearance. More ammunition was recovered at the Gin Gin residence she shared with Kristan and another housemate, James Wood.
Kristan, who was denied bail, now faces several weapons-related charges, including unlawful possession of firearms and restricted items. She appeared in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on May 26.
Police have emphasized that there is no suggestion either Kristan or James was involved in Pheobe’s disappearance, but both have been questioned as part of standard procedure.

Mr. Wood, Pheobe’s other housemate, exchanged a series of messages following her disappearance, which have since been obtained by Daily Mail Australia.
In one message, dated May 17 — just two days after Pheobe went missing — James told a friend, “No nothing atm, but we are just printing up more flyers to go around and stick up everywhere and keep searching and hope she makes contact with someone ayy.”

In a later message, James revealed a tense encounter with investigators, “I don’t know ayy but how’s this cause I was one of the last people to see her alive cops basically asked me if I did her in or hurt her at all ayy.”
While James was questioned by police, he was released without charge and remains under no formal suspicion.
As the investigation into Pheobe’s disappearance enters a critical phase, police continue to follow multiple leads, including forensic analysis and public appeals for information.
The circumstances surrounding her final days raise serious questions, but authorities and her community remain focused on one goal — bringing Pheobe home safely.
