Trump Threatens to Revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship Amid Renewed Feud

The long-running feud between Donald Trump and comedian Rosie O’Donnell has taken another dramatic turn. In a recent Truth Social post, Trump threatened to revoke O’Donnell’s U.S. citizenship, calling her a “Threat to Humanity” and suggesting she remain in Ireland, where she relocated earlier this year.

O’Donnell, who left the U.S. with her nonbinary child, cited Trump’s re-election and the influence of Project 2025 as reasons for her move. “I have no regrets,” she told CNN. “I was welcomed with open arms.”

Their public animosity began in 2006 when O’Donnell criticized Trump on The View, prompting a barrage of insults from him in response. Since then, their feud has flared up periodically, but Trump’s latest threat raised legal concerns.

Constitutional law expert Steve Vladeck called the statement “patently unconstitutional,” noting that the U.S. government has extremely limited authority to revoke citizenship, especially without due process.

O’Donnell fired back on Instagram, mocking Trump as “King Joffrey with a tangerine spray tan,” and vowed not to be silenced. On Ireland’s RTE Radio 1, she called Trump a “danger to the world” and expressed concern over his growing power, despite legal limits.

“This is not America. This is not democracy,” she said.

While O’Donnell now lives abroad, her voice remains a potent challenge to Trump, raising questions about political speech, power, and the boundaries of presidential authority in an increasingly polarized America.
